REGISTRATION AND FEES - Entry fee is $150 per angler OR $500 per boat/team of 4 anglers (you save $100). Extra anglers may be added for $100 each and includes an extra tournament shirt and social bands for both days. There is NO maximum per boat. Each registered boat is eligible for general prizes.

WEIGH-IN - Weigh Station is at Bud'N'Mary's Marina - MM 79.8 OceanSide.
BOUNDARIES – NO BOUNDARIES – YOU CAN FISH WHERE YOU WISH.
FISHING LICENSE - All participating anglers must possess a valid Florida Saltwater Fishing License.
ELIGIBLE FISH - Dolphin (mahi-mahi) is the only species of fish eligible for cash prizes. Wahoo and Kingfish are eligible for FUN FISH, Female, Junior divisions and optional categories. All fish presented for weigh-in must be in fresh, edible condition and caught that tournament day. No mutilated fish (based on tournament committee's opinion) will be accepted. Minimum acceptable weight of 10 pounds is required for entry into the tournament. We urge you to release all fish not meeting this 10 pound weigh limit, so that we can continue conservation of this species.
OVERALL SCORING: Only five dolphin per boat may be entered. The tournament winner will be the boat that has the highest combined weight of five dolphin.
LARGEST DOLPHIN: The largest dolphin weighed will win the largest dolphin prize. The largest dolphin may be used in a boat's five dolphin total weight.
LARGEST WAHOO: The largest wahoo weighed will win the largest wahoo prize
LADIES' ANGLER: The largest fish weighed of dolphin, kingfish, or wahoo by a registered female angler will win the Ladies Angler prize.
JUNIOR Angler: The largest fish weighed of dolphin, kingfish, or wahoo by a registered junior (Less than 16 years old on the day of the tournament) angler will win the largest junior fish prize.
All entries must be weighed at the certified scale at the official weigh-in location in the presence of the boat/team entering them. Tournament winners may be subject to a polygraph test. Any fish may be examined by any means necessary.
COMMUNICATIONS - All participating boats should be equipped with a working VHF marine radio. The tournament committee will monitor VHF channel 74. Official times or special notifications will be announced during the tournament on this channel
TOURNAMENT HOURS - Lines in at 7:00 AM – NO LINES OUT. Must be at weigh-in by the time the weigh station closes. Official time for both will be announced over VHF Channel 74.
WEATHER CONDITIONS - In the event of unsafe weather conditions, the tournament committee may choose to postpone the tournament until a later date. Captains are ultimately responsible for their crew and should make the decision as to safe sea conditions.
BILLFISH - Billfish are not eligible for entry into the tournament and should be released unharmed. Any angler bringing a Billfish into the weigh station shall forfeit any claim he/she may have to tournament prizes.
Fish must be hooked and landed on a single rod and reel, pole, or hand-line.
No one except the angler may touch the rod, reel or line after the fish has been engaged. “Engaged” is defined as the time at which drag is engaged (engage the drag lever or close the bail). No one except the angler may touch the rod, reel or line while the fish is being fought. The angler, captain, or crew may only touch the leader during the landing of the fish.
NO ELECTRIC REELS - Electrically driven reels on a free-standing rod (e.g. "Electramates") are not acceptable.
Freshness: Fish brought to weigh-in must be in a fresh, edible condition and must not have been frozen.
Tampering: Fish must be intact with no evidence of spearing, bang-sticks, weight tampering, or other rules violations. It is the responsibility of the Angler to ensure that all foreign objects are removed from the fish. Such objects shall include, but are not limited to: hooks, leaders, ice, and weights. Hooks or bait that has passed through the mouth and into the gullet may be left in place. Any fish found to be in violation of this rule is subject to disqualification and/or gut check.
Gut check: All fish weighed by the Tournament may be subject to a gut check after weighing at the discretion of Tournament Officials.
PROTESTS - All protests must be in writing and submitted to a Tournament Director on the day of the alleged violation no later than 30 minutes after the weigh scales close with a deposit of $200.00. If the alleged violation is found to have occurred, the deposit of $200.00 will be refunded. If the Rules Committee finds no violation, the deposit will not be refunded. The decision of the Rules Committee will be final.
AWARDS - Tournament winners will be paid by check, which will be presented at the awards ceremony to be held approximately one hour after final weigh-in.
TIES - In the event of a tie in weight, the prize money will be split
REFUNDS - No refunds will be given.
Hold Harmless: It is expressly understood that all registered participants and non-registered occupants of their boats, enter into the Purple Isles Charity Dolphin Tournament voluntarily and at their own risk. Further, each registered and non-registered participant on behalf of other family members and/or executors agrees to release and hold harmless Purple Isles Charity Dolphin Tournament, and their Officials, Directors, Owners, Members, Representatives, Agents, Employees, Independent Contractors, Volunteers, Promoters, Advertisers, Sponsors, Partners, Joint Ventures, Affiliates, Assigns, Polygraph Examiner, the City and County where the event is held and all other persons connected directly or indirectly with the operation of the Purple Isles Charity Dolphin Tournament (collectively, “Released and Indemnified Parties”) from any and all claims, losses, damages, demands, causes of action, suits and liabilities of every kind arising out of, related to, or resulting from any Purple Isles Charity Dolphin Tournament, activity or event, including but not limited to the Purple Isles Charity Dolphin Tournament, including without limitation, any claim for loss, damage or destruction of property, or injury (including death), regardless of whether such loss arises in whole or in part from the negligence of any Released and Indemnified Party. This release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as possible under applicable law, and if any portion of this release is held invalid or unenforceable, the balance shall continue in full force and legal effect.
SIGNING OF THE ENTRY FORM - By signing the entry form, the angler agrees to follow the above tournament rules and that the tournament and/or it's sponsors may use without payment or restriction any photographs or video in which he or she appears for any purpose whatsoever but not limited to resale, advertising, commercial or promotional material. All anglers are required to sign their entry blank form as certification that they have read and agreed to abide by all rules and the above liability release.
Polygraph: All winning teams will be subject to and must pass polygraph testing. Refusal to take polygraph test will result in disqualification. Any person aboard the boat may be subject to and must pass the polygraph test. Refusal to take the test could result in disqualification. Polygraph tests will include but will not be limited to questions on angling and landing procedures and species of fish. Polygraph tests are final and winners are not official until test results are obtained. Individuals who are judged by the polygraph examiner to be impaired by drugs or alcohol will be disqualified.
All donated fish will be sold with the proceeds benefiting our Charities.

Decisions of the Rules Committee are final and binding on all entrants.
